Jason Robertson, a 2nd round draft pick of the Dallas Stars in 2017, has been traded from the Kingston Frontenacs to the Niagara IceDogs along with top-pairing defenseman Jacob Paquette in a blockbuster deal for 11 draft picks as well as defenseman Billy Constantinou and forward Ian Martin.
Robertson is a two-time 40 goal scorer in the OHL, and has dominated the 2018-19 season so far with 23 goals in 24 game, and Niagara’s GM Joey Burke went as far as calling him “the best goal scorer in the league.” A Filipino-American from Arcadia, CA, Robertson will play an integral role in helping the IceDogs as they battle for first place in a wide-open OHL Central Division, saying to the Kingston Whig-Standard,
“I think it’s a good opportunity for me to try to do what I did last year with the Frontenacs, and that’s make a deep playoff run…I’m looking forward to add my skill set into their roster and try to produce.”
