Moncton Wildcats defenseman Jordan Spence was named the QMJHL defenseman of the year after the conclusion of the abbreviated 2019-20 season. A mobile right-handed defenseman with great vision and stickwork, Spence posted 52 points in 60 games for the conference-leading Wildcats this season.
Outside of a hard point shot, he has every offensive tool you look for in a modern defenceman. He’s an exit and entry machine with his feet, carving up the neutral zone and making opposing players miss with a series of fades and fakes.

A first-generation Japanese-Canadian, Spence started playing hockey in Japan before moving to Prince Edward Island. The Los Angeles Kings drafted Spence last season in the fourth round with the 95th overall pick.
